How To Get Your Titles
How can I get my titles to the vehicles I buy? How do I get my titles if I'm an international buyer? Are there any fees related to getting my titles? Can Copart ship my titles to me.
Copart provides several options for acquiring the titles to the vehicles you purchase. We recommend you have a valid Limited Power of Attorney on file with Copart, because it’s required for several of the options below.
Go to the Document Uploader section of your Account menu, download the form and fill it out. You can upload the completed form by taking a picture with your mobile device, or by scanning it and uploading it.
Copart Delivery:
With a valid Power of Attorney on file, you can have the title delivered along with your vehicle through Copart Delivery at no extra charge.
Copart Title Mailing
With a valid Limited Power of Attorney on file, Copart can ship your title directly to you through Fed-Ex ($20 per title) or the United States Postal Service ($10 per title). If you buy regularly from the same yards, you can buy title shipments in bulk. You can get up to 10 titles shipped by FedEx for $20, and up to 10 titles shipped by USPS for $10.
Go to the Payments Due page and check the title status of your vehicles. Title Pending means it hasn’t been received from the seller, while Title Ready means your title is available for you to get it.
Select the vehicles with ready titles you want shipped, then chose Mail Title. Confirm the delivery address and shipping method in the popup widow and submit the information. Then pay for title mailing like you would your vehicles, fees and other services.
If you buy vehicles often, you can have your titles automatically shipped for you from the Title Mailing window where you confirm your address and shipping preference.
Transporter Pick-Up
With a valid Power of Attorney, you can authorize your transporter to pick up your title and deliver it to you along with your vehicle. Either you or the transporter will need to pay a $20 per title handling fee.
Pick Up at Copart Facility
You can go to the Copart location where you purchased the vehicle and pick up a title. Please note there is a $20 PER TITLE fee, and you may be subject to long wait times.
International Buyers
Most of the ways you can receive your titles require you to have a Limited Power of Attorney on file with Copart.
This allows Copart to put a vehicle into your name. We can then send the title along with your transporter and/or shipping company. Be sure to contact the Copart site where the vehicle is located and tell them how you want to receive your title(s).
You can have the title shipped to a US mailing address, and then have someone you trust forward it for you. Some of our Members set up Post Office Boxes in the US and have their titles forwarded to them. Copart cannot ship titles internationally.
You can find the Limited Power of Attorney in the Document Uploader under your Account menu. Download it, fill it out, then scan it or take pictures of it with your mobile device. Then upload the images through the Document Uploader. Some states require these forms to be notarized, so be sure to check the requirements for the state in which
