Cancel or Downgrade Membership

How do I Upgrade, Downgrade or Cancel my membership later?

Sometimes Members don’t buy the right Membership to meet their needs the first time. Let’s look at each situation individually.

Upgrade to Premier

If you bought a Basic Membership and then decide you want the full benefits of a Premier Membership, the good news is that it’s easy to upgrade. Log into your account and select the Account Information icon at the top, right of the page. Choose Account Settings, then Membership on the dropdown menus. Select the option to upgrade to a Premier Member and pay the $149 Member Upgrade fee.

Downgrade to Basic

On the other hand, if you think the Premier Membership you purchased is more than you need, you can downgrade to a Basic Membership. Contact Member.Services@Copart.com and they’ll update your account.

Copart will refund the difference in price if you downgrade within the first seven days, including the day you signed up for Membership, as long as you haven’t done any bidding or used your Premier privileges. If you used a credit or debit card to purchase your Membership, the refund will go back on your card in 3 to 5 business days. If you used another form of payment a refund check will be mailed to you in 30 days.

Cancel Your Membership

If you purchased a Basic Membership, go to the Account Information menu at the top right of the page, select Account Settings>Membership. Then choose the Cancel Membership option.

If you purchased your membership within the last 7 days, including the day you purchased it, Copart will refund your Membership fee as long as you haven’t done any bidding activity. If you purchased your Membership with a debit or credit card, your refund will be sent to that account in 3 to 5 business days. If you used some other method of payment, contact Member.Services@Copart.com. Copart will send you a refund in 30 business days. If you purchased a Basic Membership, you can have your Deposit refunded electronically to the card you used in 3 to 5 business days, or get a check sent to you in 30 days if you used another method of payment.

If you purchased a Premier Membership, you’ll need to contact Member.Services@Copart.com to cancel your Membership, get your fee refunded if eligible, and to get your deposit refunded.

As long as your account has no outstanding balances when you cancel, you can get a full refund on your deposit, whether you are a Basic or Premier Member.

What If I’m a Guest Member and I Want to Upgrade

If you registered as a Guest Member, just go to the Member Information>Account Settings>Membership, and select Upgrade Membership, then decide on the plan that meets your needs.
