Member Fees

What are Copart's Member fees?

Understanding Fees

Copart’s fees are based on a percentage of the final price of the vehicle you purchased. The main difference in fees is whether Members are licensed dealers or unlicensed consumers.

Members also pay a Virtual Bidding Fee based on the final sales price, that is never more than $149.

We charge higher fees for Heavy Vehicles. (All industrial equipment vehicles, medium duty/box trucks, heavy duty trucks, RVs and trailers, as searchable through and referenced on the Vehicle Finder.)

Brokers buying for unlicensed Members will charge their own fees, which Copart has no control over.

Fee Discounts

Copart offers fee discounts to Members who meet certain conditions.

Members who pay with secured payment methods enjoy a Secured Funds discount on all fees.

High volume dealers who purchase 25 cars a year and/or spend $75,000 a year with Copart qualify for additional fee discounts. To learn more, contact Member.Services@Copart.com.

Gate Fee

Copart charges a $79 Gate Fee to all purchase when vehicles are picked up. This fee covers administrative costs and moving the vehicle to the Member loading area.

Environmental Fee

A $10 fee is applied to each item sold, which covers the cost of precise handling and care in compliance with environmental regulations.

Other Fees (If Applicable)

In Person Payment Surcharge

Copart levies a $20 per vehicle charge on all in-person cash and other payment methods. Use an electronic payment method to avoid this fee.

Late Payment Fee

If the vehicle amount and all applicable fees aren’t paid within 3 business days, including the day of the auction, Copart will charge a $50 per vehicle late payment fee.

Storage Fee

If a vehicle isn’t picked up by the third business day, including the day of the auction, Copart will charge a vehicle storage fee. This fee varies by location and can be found on the storage site’s Locations page.

Vehicle Relist Fee

If a vehicle isn’t paid in full within 8 calendar days, including the day of the auction, the vehicle will be relisted to appear in an upcoming auction. The original high bidder will be charged a Relist Fee of 10% of the price of the vehicle with a minimum fee of $600.

This fee may be taken out of your deposit. You may not be able to bid again until your deposit is replenished to required levels.

Third Party Financing Fee

Members who purchase vehicles through a Copart-affiliated third-party finance company will be charged a $69 administrative fee.

Title Pickup Fee

Members who choose to pick up their titles at Copart locations will be charged a $20 per title processing fee.

Title Mailing Fee

With a valid Limited Power of Attorney on file, Copart can ship titles directly to Members through Fed-Ex ($20 per title) or the United States Postal Service ($15 per title). For Members who buy regularly from the same yards, you can buy title shipments in bulk. Get up to 10 titles shipped by FedEx for $20, and up to 10 titles shipped by USPS for $15.
